Cancun - Excellence Happiness

 After two years without traveling, it was finally time to pack our bags and leave on a jet plane. Our destination of choice? Excellence Playa Mujeres Excellence is an adult only, all-inclusive resort located in Playa Mujeres, Mexico. This was our first-time visiting Cancun, but it will not be our last! 



The Excellence resort was marvelous the staff was friendly and helpful, the grounds were beautiful and the seven swimming pools were refreshing. Our room was a swim up suite, which meant we had a pool right outside our patio door. Every morning we enjoyed our coffee from the comfort of our private patio overlooking the crystal blue pool. 



Our days were spent relaxing under the palapas on the white sand beach consuming cocktails and tacos. During our stay, we indulged in a spa day which started with hydrotherapy that consisted of treatments like a Swedish sauna, Cuban shower, cold-plunge pool, and double massage beds. After our hydrotherapy treatments we received a 75-minute couples massage which included a blend of deep tissue massage, shiatsu pressure points, aromatherapy and lomi-lomi techniques. 





Our nights started with dining at one of the resort's nine gourmet restaurants. Our favorite dinner was at Basmati, an authentic Indian restaurant. This was our first time trying Indian food and we loved it! After dinner, we would make our way to the outdoor theater where we enjoyed the nightly live musical performances and entertainment. Overall, it was a fantastic vacation and we definitely felt the excellence happiness!

The 100% Rule

I recently watched Benjamin Hardy's Ted Talk The 100 Percent Rule That Will Change Your Life  and found it very enlightening.  In this talk, Benjamin talks about  a man named Elko, who was overweight. Elko’s family had ingrained in his head that he would always struggle with his weight. So that became Elko’s identity. That was until one night Elko thought to himself what if I went back to eating from the earth or clean eating and what if I did it for the rest of my life. So, he committed to the idea and lived by the mantra 100% is easier than 98%.  The idea behind this mantra is that if you’re not 100% committed, then you haven’t truly decided to commit yet. By making a 100% commitment, Elko never had to debate in his mind to eat clean, he just always did it. With only a 98% commitment, you don’t know what the outcome will be in future scenarios.
